Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love. 1 Corinthians 16:13-14
When you have a scheduled routine you do not know how much your faith depends on structure until it is changed. For years throughout you childhood most students have had people holding them accountable and if you attend a Christian school you become much more used to the Christian environment and might have a big shock going to a big university or college. We should always be prioritizing our relationship with God even after we graduate and we have to be able to hold ourselves accountable and create our own personal relationship with the Lord.
The Switch from High School to College
The switch from high school to college can be a big change for many. In college, you will meet many people who have different opinions and think differently than you. You also might be tired or uninspired but prioritizing your relationship with God is the best possible thing you can do because He gives us strength to overcome anything. During this time, your faith can also become stronger when you become even more dependent on the Lord you will realize that He can carry you through anything, the up’s and the down’s.
How to Stay Grounded and Strong in Your Faith
One of the most important things you can do to stay grounded and grow your relationship with God in this new season of life is to surround yourself with a Christian ministry, group, and church. This is very important because you will be around others who value what you value. Incorporating other routines like daily Bible study or quiet time with the Lord everyday will help and continue to strengthen your relationship with Him. Prayer and worship are also great ways to stay connected to the Lord throughout your days.
Your faith will be tested but through these trials and tribulations God is always working through you making you stronger each day. You are not alone and so many people face these challenges but when you know your identity and hope is found in Christ you will be able stay strong and grounded in your faith at all times. Make sure you live out your faith daily and live a life of integrity that reflects Christ through you. Always remember that God is with you no matter what season of life you are in and all you have to do is stay rooted and keep prioritizing your faith!
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33
