Prom 2025 was a night full of unexpected turns, big energy, and lasting memories. It may not have started the way anyone hoped, but by the end of the evening, it was clear that the community, the spirit, and the fun was all still there.
Originally, the event was set to take place in beautiful Agua Dulce, but the weather had other plans. As high school principal, Mrs. Marston, put it, “We were literally stuck in a cloud in Agua Dulce. Beautiful place, but hard to get the excitement going when everybody was wet because of the condensation.” The fog and rain made it hard to enjoy the moment, and for a while, it felt like the night might be a huge flop.
But things quickly turned around. With just a few phone calls and some serious teamwork, the event was moved to the Heritage gym. The facilities team, parent volunteers, teachers, and the head of school jumped in to help. They brought out decorations, laid down the red carpet, and added black and gold balloons to help create an atmosphere that still felt special. It was not extravagant at all, but it was enough to bring everyone together and lift the mood.
As Prom Queen, Mia Esparza said, “It didn’t start off like everyone hoped, but thanks to great staff and faculty, they got it up and running in the gym. And it was a lot of fun.” Once the music kicked in and the room filled with dancing and laughter, the earlier chaos faded into the background. The energy shifted, and people made the most of the night.
One of the most exciting moments was the crowning of Mia Esparza and Mason Hale as Prom Queen and King. Mason summed it up perfectly by saying, “I’m very grateful, and what can I say? That’s just what the people wanted.”
The food also stood out. There was a great spread that hit the spot, but the real stars were the churros, which were seriously delicious and had people raving all night. On top of that, Mr. Cracium and Mrs. Sarkissian were busy making frappes, and they were a huge hit. Cold, sweet, and made with care, they were a surprise highlight of the night!
Throughout the evening, there were random funny moments and spontaneous laughs. What really stood out was how everyone came together, made the best of the situation, and still had a genuinely fun time. Including but not limited to when Trainer Dave Gloria led the Macarena dance, giving a great memory and sense of accomplishment to all of his students who had been begging him to do it.
In the end, it was not about the location or the weather; it was about the people, the attitude, and the way everyone came together to make it work. Micaela Orozco, Junior ASB President, said it simply: “Prom all worked out in the end.” And middle school principal, Mr. Smith, added a thoughtful reflection, saying, “Sometimes it’s so good to get away from home, but sometimes it’s always good to come back home.”
Prom 2025 was far from perfect, but it was real, fun, and unforgettable in its own way. Thank you to everyone who helped turn a rough start into a memorable celebration. From the volunteers to the students who showed up with a good attitude, you all made it happen.
Prom 2025 was truly one to remember.
