by | May. 19, 2025

“Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green.”

Jeremiah 17:7–8

As graduation approaches, it is natural to reflect on the journey, the challenges overcome, the lessons learned, and the growth experienced. This verse offers a powerful image for this moment, a tree planted by water, flourishing even in difficult conditions. This tree symbolizes the strength found in trusting the Lord. Its roots reach deep into the stream, drawing sustenance and stability. Similarly, by placing your confidence in God, you have developed resilience that will support you in the seasons ahead.

As you step into new environments and face unfamiliar challenges, remember the source of your strength. The same trust that has carried you through your academic journey will continue to sustain you. Your roots in faith will enable you to remain steadfast, to thrive, and to bear fruit in every season. This week, take time to acknowledge the growth that has occurred and the foundation that has been laid. Celebrate the journey, and look forward with confidence, knowing that you are rooted in the unwavering love and faithfulness of God.

And a warm thank you to all of HCS, I pray these devotions have been a blessing, love y’all. <3
